The Reading Quest - A Reading Game Read-a-thon!

Hello All -

UPDATE: I am not sure I will be able to participate in this Readathon as I just got lots of assignments for my grad school classes that start in a week! :(

I am getting ready to participate in another readathon (WHAT am I thinking!?... Who am I!?), but I think I am going to go a bit more low key with this one, as I only have a few weeks before grad classes start up again! And, I want to participate in the Viewathon which is starting soon. I never caught up this summer on all of my shows from when school was in session. It's extremely hard for me to watch TV when I am working full time and taking two grad school classes so that is a MUST before they all ramp up again! I got a bit side-tracked... back to the subject at hand. I learned about this Readathon from one of my favorites!!! (Click here for Riley's Blog! I absolutely adore her!!!) This readathon is different, in that, it is a game - where you can actually 'level up'! *NerdAlert* Love it!

All of the beautiful artwork you see in this post is done by CW at Read, Think, Ponder! *heart eyes emoji*

#TheReadingQuest was created by Read at Midnight so be sure to check them out!! And sign up here if you are interested: https://readatmidnight.com/2017/07/29/thereadingquest-sign-up/ (All details are provided here, as well) -- This readathon takes places from Sunday 13th August to Sunday 10th September, 2017.

This challenge is a month long (another reason that I really am going 'low key'). You pick a character and travel your character's path on the adorable bingo board shown above by reading a book that matches the challenges on that path. You want to get as many Experience Points (EXP) as possible by leveling up, and completing the quest. For each book you complete, you will receive +10EXP (unless it is a graphic novel, in which case you will only receive +5EXP). Bonus****: If your book is written by a marginalized author, you receive +20EXP. Your character also gets Health Points (HP) which is based on the number of pages that you read. You receive +1HP for every 10 pages you read (again, unless it's a graphic novel, in which case you will only receive +1HP for every 20 pages you read). You can also earn HP by posting on social media and using the #TheReadingQuest.

There are also side quests you can participate in at anytime. These are located in the middle of the board. Tell me this does not sound like the most fun readathon!? The characters you can choose from are listed below.

I am definitely picking the Mage! I mean, is that character not the cutest? Ok, well, it also helps that the challenges on that path are the ones I am most interested in!  You can see the challenges and side questions below. I will be updating this with my TBR within the week! I hope you can join us and take part in it, as well!

A book that contains magic:

I have about 4 books that I really want to read this month so I am going to try to incorporate them into this readathon! Keep checking back to see my completed TBR.

Thanks to  CW of Read, Think, Ponder for the artwork within the post.
